Mrs. Sharma adjusted her black satin gown which stuck to her oversized body like Clingfilm, she had spent a hefty 4000 to woo Mr. Sharma on their 25th anniversary.
The moment Mr. Sharma placed the book he was reading his eyes fell on something that looked like his son’s black boxing punch bag without his glasses.
He put on his glasses as he saw Mrs. Sharma feeling unease and uncomfortably struggling with the gown.
As she sat next to him the seam of the delicate satin finally shouted its last and split right on her tummy, she still managed a smile and gave the rose she was hiding “Happy Anniversary Sharmaji.”
Mr. Sharma put a plastic wrapped bag in Mrs. Sharma’s lap wishing her back with a gentle kiss on her forehead; the gift was nothing but her favorite comfortable batik print cotton gown from her regular shop at Elco market.

I have seldom seen him uneasy or uncomfortable, waiting to see Shashank’s take on the word, watch out for it here.
Hahaha, super sweet 🙂
Thank you Archana, happy you liked it 🙂
That was thoughtful of Mr.Sharma. 🙂
That was knowing his soulmate Vinitha 🙂
Seems Mr Sharma knows more about her than she knows about herself 🙂
Exactly Alok, years of togetherness speaks isn’t it 🙂
🙂
we can go to any extent to win appreciation
Not sure if the story conveyed that to you Aroraji, but that’s not what I intended to write.
Lovely. She tried to impress him, and he showed her that she already had.
Thanks Melanie, welcome to my blog and happy you liked it 🙂
Aww…Mr. Sharma’s gesture was so heartwarming. A lovely read 🙂
Thanks Purba, that is what years of being together brings 🙂
😀 sweet! Way to go Mr.Sharma!
hahaha so rightly said way to go 🙂
hmm … Mrs. Sharma definitely loves him but its Mr. Sharma who has stole the show it seems .. I wonder how Mrs. Sharma would have reacted to the gift ? was she hurt or happy that he knows her comfort ? am not sure ..
but one thing is sure that your story surely depicts Uneasy/unease 🙂
Thumbs up for that dearie 🙂
Thanks babe…a sequel to FSF won’t justify na, but in short she would have grumbled over his gift initially but the comfort it would have brought her would be explainable…its like the comfort of the old worn tee we get most happy to be in while sleeping 🙂
Sweet and a heartwarming tale.. 🙂
Thank you babe.
I see love here Ananya where Mrs. Sharma tries her part and Mr. Sharma knowing doesn’t stop her, waits, and gifts her comfort back, and in his quiet way Mr Sharma, conveys all that matters is her comfort and what she chooses to be in and as she wants to. He loves her and I am sure she must have been happy receiving it but Sharma ji ki kher ni 😀 Blissful love isn’t it?
I have heard purana ho gaya na so many times 😉 so its commendable the Sharma’s love each other lolz 🙂
