Large wooden door stared at me,
The brown floor, the yellow walls, I wanted to flee.
Giggles, whispers and the moans,
Reminded of the time alone.
Entered the room I heard them louder,
Saw the mirror where we stood together.
All was cleaned and kept in place,
But the one thing I couldn’t face.
It was our bed still undone,
The creases reminded of carnal fun!
At times subtle or passionate,
It was love incarnate.
A glance at the pillow made me smile,
Tell myself it was worthwhile.
The bed then screamed your absence,
Locking the room, I left in your remembrance.

Memories – as palpable as a lover’s touch – they make you feel the pain, relive the happiness, then with their sheer absence, they prick you like a thorn…..Beautiful poem Shweta…..I have read few of your writings and whenever I read them, they amaze me…..
Down the memory lane! Your poems are too haunting! The command of words and beauty stops from being depressing! It’s something, which hurts us, still we can’t avoid reading it.
