This form of poetry is called Rondeau. My first attempt atย writingย one.ย A Rondeau is a French form, 15 lines long, consisting of three stanzas: a quintet, a quatrain, and a sestet with a rhyme scheme as follows: aabba aabR aabbaR. Lines 9 and 15 are short – a refrain (R) consisting of a phrase taken from line one. The other lines are longer (but all of the same metrical length).

I have been tagged by my bestie, my babe Kokilaย to take part in Five photos Five stories Challenge (FPFS) which is- Post a picture for 5 consecutive days and attach a post to it , fiction, poem or short write-up.It can be anything to suit your taste. Thank you so so much babe for tagging me ๐
I am tagging my dear blogger friend Vishalย on my Day One and as a part of the challenge, I will tag a new person on Day Two.
I should thank Kokila for I wouldn’t get to read such a beautiful poem if not for her. Ananya, the poem flows elegantly all d way and the morning thoughts, dreams are beautifully painted. Fresh, and probably it’s just me.. but even the last lines seem beautiful and optimistic ๐ Who knows he might be just round the corner surprising the mind that it wasn’t its game after all.. Good to read your poem after a while j..
now that’s what I so well knew j, positivity and super optimism….am sure Shashank it will not be her mind game now:) and really happy you liked it and felt it fresh well as you know really exhausted of FSF needed a different form desperately j ๐
It was fresh for your regular reader here.. ๐ again!
Yeah agree with you Shinchan.. I too should thank myself and in turn Maniparna for this … Its B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L ! I loved the flow .. read it in one go !
Am inclined to believe in Shanx point of hope in the last line :p though initially I found them as a reality check for the poor girl ๐
As fragile as her dream (?) ..
HUGS ๐
now its beautiful after your comment babe, well I owe a lot of appreciation I have got for my work to Shashank, you and Mani….its a different feeling to know when someone knows you reads your work ๐ ok now every comment to you is becoming emo…so guys we rock is all I say ๐ super hugs and kisses ๐
PS – Forgot to mention thanks for this new form of poetry dear ..It seems complicated . though your beautiful poem hardly allowed me to notice the nuances of the form or the meter !.
yes, I want to write a hindi kavita on this form babe…really want to ๐ you try or I try…waise bhi you try and I add on puchhe bina woh bhi ๐
Loved it sweetie, very well done! Hoping to try this form too one day :p thanks for introducing! ๐
Surely Archana, you will excel in this too…very sure! and thanks for liking it ๐
Very nice poem Shweta. Let me tell you I am reading “Thousand Splendid Suns” (by Khalid Hossenni) these days. If I were the editor of the book, I would have added this poem for the unbounded love between Laila & Tariq (both are the main characters of the book). Beautifully written!
Thanks for inviting me for FPFS challenge. 5 consecutive days of writing is a challenge itself but I will try to live up to it.
wow, thats such a beautiful compliment Vishal, I haven’t read the book but would surely read it. Thank you so much and am sure you will keep up with the challenge.
Oh my my…what a beautiful poem this is, Shweta!
In fact the flow is so absorbing that the form becomes secondary.
Had it not been for your intro to ‘Rondeau’ I wouldn’t have cared…
This metre is interesting and intriguing…thank you for introducing:)
And thank you for such beautiful words Amit ji, coming from a poet it is indeed a big thing ๐
Simply beautiful lines!
Thank you Rajeev ๐
A big smile for last two lines. It reminds me of Jagjit Singh’s “Manjoor tha parda tera…..”
hum bhi wahin maujood the, humse bhi sab puchha kiye, hum has diye hum chup rahe manzoor tha parda tera, its one of my favorite Jagjit Singhji’s ghazals ๐
Beautiful……!!!
