She stood in front of the mirror examining her stomach from left to right.
The cosmetic surgeon had done a fantastic job on the tummy tuck, she thought to herself.
It is impossible for anyone to look prettier, big banner movies and top assignments are just a step away.
The pride in her eyes changed with a closer look at her nose, dislocated, the plastic melting away.
Insecurity set in again, another cosmetic touch was on its way.

Insecurity, is that an emotion…well if feeling guilty is then feeling insecure is too an emotion. He isn’t aware of this emotion to write on it and that’s the best state to be in 🙂 So definitely the take on insecurity would be unique, why wait then, hop on to Shashank’s blog and read it here!
hahaha… loved it!!! true true true… hugs!
Thanks Archana 🙂
in some cases beauty is not even skin deep
So agree its just a mental state of feeling perfect which never happens Aroraji 🙂
Is she from Korea? Koreans do and get done the most number of plastic surgeries in the world!

Very true insecurity – kills your present and keeps worrying. Good plot.
Rightly said Aditya 🙂
Splendid take on the word and the way you’ve narrated it closing in with the last sentence is awesomeness Ananya 🙂 Love your short fictions too!
You are a master of short fiction j, I am still learning the art 🙂 really happy to get this appreciation from you 🙂
Insecurity kills happiness. Nice one.
Thank you Arun.
Insecurity of looking fat, being rejected, loosing things etc can make a person to do anything.. I saw a mother who brought her 10 yr daughter for nose surgery.. She was like can we go home today?? Actually I don’t want my husband to know about this blah blah.. Gosh some people are really sick..Shweta bahut bada comment ho gaya na.. Let be conclude:
Nice post Shweta 😉 he he he
bikul bada nahi hai…the comment form is actually to exchange thoughts 🙂 And I so agree with what you have said…its a bad vice.
Insecurity leading to desperation. This could be a real story.
yes it could be Somali!
Poignant dilemma!
Ji Uppalji.
It’s sad that people get so insecure over physical attributes!
yes insecurity in any form is bad Sreesha.
I know these days so many of us r dealing with unwanted body issues..sad bit true ..
Its become so competitive to look better externally rather than be healthy!

Yes acceptance and working naturally to handle it is best but if it becomes a habit to correcting things it can be a menace.
It’s better to value what’s natural and God gifted… it’s your soul that reflects, not your physical attributes is what Mom taught me. :’) I have a very fatty face with chubby cheeks which does not compliment my lean body frame at all and so many people suggested me to opt for surgery like Kareena but I didn’t go with them and proud of what I have! Very poignantly expressed Shweta..glad you came up with something on this issue! 🙂
You look pretty Maitreni and am happy you are confident about it. Ma teaches you very good values 🙂 happy you liked the post!
Very True.Well written.People don’t understand that true beauty lies on the inside.Great message.
Rightly said and by the time they do understand its too late to undo it 🙁
A great write up on the emotion called “insecurity”. Very impactful writing, Shweta. Loved it 🙂
I believe that insecurity stems from not being able to love and accept oneself. No wonder why the spiritual gurus say that self-love is the best form of love as we love and embrace ourself totally…which further helps us to love others unconditionally.
So agree Purba, I see insecurity as a race to be the best and not being content with what we have and in order to reach there the journey involves damage and deceit. Its vicious 🙁
Beautiful writeup Shweta! Insecurity is one of the most dangerous feeling to have.
So agree Jatin and sadly its prevalent everywhere.
Beautifully done! Thanks for sharing
Thank you Shamsud Ahmed.
One should have self-respect and self-confidence. Insecurity is an invisible worm that gnaws from within and makes one hollow and artificial. Wonderful take, bestie… love you… 🙂
And bestie there is no end to it…once it sets in….you rightly put it gnaws!
Wow read…..!
Thank you Bhavani
Ah, vanity and the need to be perfect. Wish people concentrated more on inner beauty.
Well wish we also lived in an ideal world hain na Saru…there is greed for everything including beauty 🙁
Naturally insecure 🙂
True for so many these days, Soul-sis!
Its rampant soul-sis….
Acceptance of yourself is important..a great write up ! 🙂
Rightly said Renu!
wow…………how nicely you have put it…insecurity gnawing on one’s mind and body
And these days I see it everywhere, only blogging was spared and I see people getting competitive and commercial here too 🙁
Ah…the eternal chase for the beauteous outer
Rightly said Lata!
Insecurity will always be a part of a woman’s life.. no matter what.. And you’ve described a typical insecure female.. Even I get insecured at times but I’ve never thought to that extent though 😀 Nice one! 🙂
It is so honest of you to accept it, all of us have flaws, like I am possessive and it naturally comes to me with my loved ones till the time we know how to tame them all is good 🙂
When will we learn to accept ourselves? Beautifully penned, Shweta.
So rightly said Kiran. Its difficult to be completely satisfied with what one has…..
Ouch! I guess if one goes in for one cosmetic surgery once, he/she will have the tendency to go for it again.
Thats so true, if one starts seeing imperfections then there is no end to it!
Aww those plastic touches that they undergo for fake and superfluous beauty.. i pity such people.
Agree Roohi….the definition of beauty can be so different for people isn’t it?
